One of the problems with being a Press Ganger is I end up doing a lot to support my local store, and make sure things run smoothly so that I keep having a place to play. Given that, I had to shelf my Skorne army in favor of building terrain for the new league tour. I totally dig the Broken Coast stuff, but building boats was a pain in the ass. I think I spent about 100 bucks and a total of 100 man hours building these thing (plus piers, etc). Fortunately I had some help building, so it wasn’t all me. The boats are not 100%, but they are playable and when I finish you can be sure I will posts them.
In the mean time I’ve managed to do some painting on other projects. My “big” one is getting my Black Orgun Boarding Party done. Those are almost finished and will appear on the Privateer Press forums in the near future. I decided I was going to play Cryx again this tour since it just felt right to use a piratey Cryx army with boats.
I have been working on organizing paint clinics at my local store. They’re not as successful as I’d like, yet, but with time I’m sure I can get more of the local players interested in painting.
My first piece today is Doc Killingsworth, which I started to show blending and flesh techniques. I finished him up and he is going into my wife’s Talion Charter.
The next piece that came out of the paint clinics was my test piece for my Gatorman Posse. It was an experiment in speed painting and washes. I suspect I’m going to write a tutorial on this technique once our site is pack to 100%.
Oh, and don’t worry, the upgrades to the site are coming along nicely. We are currently working out the software to bridge our new forum software with the new article software.
Ciao.

Boat tip.
Boat PDF + Poster Board + Glue & Tape = $5
Along with about 15 minutes of time, BAM perfeclty playable boats, that are sturdy enough to slide around, and you don’t feel bad about throwing them away at the end of the tour

Figs look cool, but where’s the terrain?

Pictures of the boats will follow soon. I’m going to get some WIP shots tonight and try to finish the details this weekend.

Love the simplicity of the Gatorman, and I totally want to see those boats!
